Making friends here

Do people actually talk here and become real friends or does the convo usually fizzle out? This site always struck me as this obscure place to post things you normally wouldn't on your regular social media like a facebook or somewhere

SpectralMourning has kinda nailed the answer for me.

I think it's social media exhaustion. A lot of people have been doing this sort of interaction for a decade plus and most everyone at some point in time has gotten their feelings in hurt. It's a lot to even think about getting back to that point of perceived trust with someone again. Just easier to ignore it I guess.

I’ve been doing the Q&A thing since 2007. I just don’t have the energy/inclination for building new friendships anymore.

@OlderSometimesWiser I suspected. That's what sucks. I'm exhausted too but loneliness also be kicking my ass some times and yeah, it'd be nice to have a friend but nobody wants that. So it is what it is

@OlderSometimesWiser Yes ma'am. That's it right there. It takes two to tango unfortunately. Just lone wolfing it and I just pretend like I prefer it this way as a cope like everyone else when inside I'm actually like November leaves just like one of my songs say

@OlderSometimesWiser Yes precisely right. That's exactly how I live 24.7. It's like I'm used to it...but you never truly get used to it if that makes sense....or does it?...Who knows

@OlderSometimesWiser I don't think giving up is the right phrase for me. I'm at a place of....a mixture of disillusionment and contempt. I'm still "young" not young young, but relatively on paper but where I'm at, trust me I might as well be 50

@OlderSometimesWiser Trust me, what I've been through is like multiple life times. It's not purely about numbers. Trust me I wish it was but I'm not in my 20's. I'm 30. Most of my peers are living adult lives and my life..well....let's just say it's too embarrassing to say out loud....At least when you're going through it in life and you have friends, it's a bit easier to carry the load, without it, it's like you're suffocating and you can't force friendships, just like I learned on this site soooo it's just...yeah, not a good look let's just say

@Movingthegoalpost In all fairness, this place doesn't seem to be very conducive to friendships. Because of this, I'm suggesting you don't see it as a "me" issue.

@Magicianzini Nah I didn't think it was a me issue lol I suspected. I never saw this as a friend making site. It's just when a conversation flows like butter wherever it is, you cant' help but think you made a new friend or whatever it could've been, but yeah
