When people say all men should fight in the war...

It's like saying that if your country was struck by a horrendous tsunami, all men should rush in the direction of the thunami to try to save as many people as possible, despite having zero qualifications or knowledge about tsunamis, and those who run away from the tsunami are cowards who should forever suffer from survivor's guilt.

It is not a crime to literally survive, when disaster strikes.

Well they probably mean all men should join the military, go through training, then fight in the war. Though it would be a bad idea for literally all men to do this, you should only join the military if you're healthy enough for it. And I don't know why it should be limited to men.

@BohoBabe I was talking about all the people who keep having a problem with my husband avoiding conscription, so in this particular case that is not what they mean. I don't think the solution is kill women too, I think the solution is to let people who can escape, escape. A country is not a piece of land, it is the culture and the people themselves.

@Nightwings I don't know about your hubby's situation, so I can't comment there. But I think anyone who can fight for their country should, provided it's a war for self-defense. I don't blame people for leaving Ukraine, but there are so many people who can't leave. I think we all have a responsibility to help them by defending our land.
But IDK, I'm not in that situation. I don't know what I'd do if I was.

@BohoBabe Yes, there are so many men who can't leave because they're not allowed to leave, and are in danger of being sent to the frontlines, all because the people in power want to come out of this with a little extra land. Yes there are people in the warzones who cannot escape, which is extremely tragic, but it's not going to help them that even more people die.

, One should only join the military if they're healthy enough for it.

Some people feel that way until it is their own son or even themself that gets called to go off and d*e in some useless b4ttle.

But IDK, I'm not in that situation. I don't know what I'd do if I was.

I think a lot of us would do the same thing, find ANY excuse to not have to go, even if we had to have a big yellow stripe painted down our backs. 😄

Why would ANYone want to go d*e for a country that doesn't care about them? Of course that is most countries.

@HoeBag The worst thing is that there is no excuse to not go. They recruit a huge amount of people who are so physically ill that they die in the busses towards the barracks. As for mental health, that is not even considered real unless very severe. The recruiters are everywhere on the streets, and come to our apartments, so the only way to stay safe is for men move to another person's address and to lock themselves inside until the war is over. There is not even a way to go to prison instead, because the recruiters pick you up in their vans and drive you directly to the barracks. /=
