Let People Be Happy. šŸ’›

I never thought I’d have to say this… but if someone wants to celebrate their pregnancy—whether it’s the first day or the final month—let them.

Someone on here just blocked me because I chose to share my excitement about this journey. After being repeatedly told not to ā€œcelebrate too earlyā€ and to ā€œwait until I’m further along,ā€ I finally stood up for myself and said:
ā€œPardon me for being excited. This is my first pregnancy, and I’m going to post about it every day if I want to. I’ve waited for this for so long.ā€

And just like that… blocked.
I’m honestly still in shock. I don’t even know what to say.

But here’s what I do know: I won’t let anyone dull this joy. Every single day of this journey matters to me. Every moment is worth celebrating. šŸ’•

To anyone who’s ever been made to feel small for being happy—please know your joy is valid. Don’t let anyone take that from you.

Yeah, in case you're not aware, there's an "old tradition" that says a woman should wait to announce the pregnancy because saying something too soon is "bad luck."
It's ok to continue that, but no one should get angry for breaking tradition. Hell, it may not even be apart of your culture.

@calicuz I know, I never really heard that tradition but I DO know that I’m still in the early stages and COULD miscarry but I am holding on to hope and praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby and I am just so excited, it’s my first pregnancy and I just couldn’t hold it in. I probably should’ve waited to post- but, gosh I’m just so excited 😭

@TiaRose

You have all the right to be excited, and it's just old traditions founded on nothing. I'm happy for you, and wish a happy and healthy child.
