Some users are here primarily for public conversations, and some are here primarily for private messages. I suppose there is a whole spectrum between those two extremes, but I happen to be toward the "public conversations" end of the spectrum.
But by making posts, responding to others' posts , and having conversations in public, I have come to meet people who I like. And some actually like me. And in that sense, we make friends here.
If you add someone to your friends list and they add you back, then the two of you will see each other's posts more often, and interactions between the two of you will become a regular thing.
