I've made some long lasting e-relationships with people on the original EP and other places. You're right when you say the long conversations are rare now, but I use sites to stay connected to people I truly consider friends, and I'm always hopeful that the tide shifts and people start talking again.

I can have long conversations on here. My conversations are mainly centered around my work, but only because that's what my friends want to talk about. I always advise new friends to read the "about me". However I can talk about a number of subjects.

I actually have several conversations in private as well as members I consider to be good friends on here.
But it's weird because some posts I see and other posts I don't see, if it's sometime who isn't a favorite.

This, site like so many now are focused on soundbites not on a discourse. I used to like the blogging heyday 20 years ago

Sad but true.

Relatively few people on here ,I think.
And few from mainland Europe, which is a shame.

Most do short answers as they are losing social skills and just text as brief as possible rather than converse with any length.

The site seems to be spiraling down the drain.
