Would you block someone just because you deleted their reply after they said they didn't want to carry on with the comments?

I'm a bit confused tbh. What exactly was the situation? 1. I was having a conversation with someone. 2. they told me they didn't want to carry on with comments 3. I deleted their reply 4. I blocked them
Is that what happened?

...Why would I do that? I wouldn't delete their replies in this situation.
