Apparently they're testing a new feature... and it was a Mod's post, so that makes since they were testing the feature, where only the original poster can approve posts, and have to approve each post.
It said "pending approval" for all comments before the OP/moderator approved of their publication. It's a new feature they are "testing" that will become a VIP feature when it's released. It will allow you to keep certain comments from appearing on your posts.
