Help: Pending Approval?

@faery So it's not just mine... but I can only see it pending on mine.

I freaking hate that feature already

@sstronaut Do you mean you saw it for only yours or that you still see it's status as pending?

@faery Yes, my last two posts still say Pending Approval and no one else says that anymore.



One other did have that message but it is gone now (as seen at the bottom).

@sstronaut You may have been censored. I don't see your final comment or the approval pending box, so it seems it's only visible to you. Possibilities are that they overlooked it and might publish it later or they've already decided not to publish it. This is the problem I saw with the feature. That people will be upset that their comments are overlooked or just not published in order to, essentially, censor.

One way it could be good, though, is slowing down people making hateful comments, when they know they'll never be published

@faery I just don't think it's been approved yet, but both the last two still say Pending.

@sstronaut Maybe this is why it's still in testing, idk. It just seems weird it's taking so long, but I expect all posts by admins and moderators will be screened and censored from now on. Maybe all your comments will make it through eventually. After all, they are human beings with lives... I think ;)

@faery Thank you for helping mentally figure this out. When others said new feature, I thought they were talking about the AI bot in the other question, and didn't realize they were saying the Post Pending was a new feature...

@sstronaut in theory, I like the idea of approving some comments that you might not want on your post, although I think will cause more arguments and finger pointing than anything

@Bexsy Yeah, like I don't know that other people can see my messages or not, and I'm told one they can see that is pending and the other one in the same thread they can't see that is pending.

It's an easy way to leave people out, in what is already an undersized crowd...

And basically make all political posts one sided circle jerks

Or if someone doesn't like your comment, you might not have a clue, and keep posting comments like that, as you don't know they don't like it.

@sstronaut Jessica has been using the pending approval for quite a few months now. I still have a pending comment from months ago.

BTW your confusing the term "post" with "comment" everywhere below.

Your "comment" is pending not your "post" is pending on Jessica's post.

All these comments and replies are on your own post which is not pending.

I suspect this option will only be available for VIP's. Jessica made that one assumption herself.

VIP's already have the option to close their posts to further comments for years now. Basically making one sided conversations already available to VIP's.

I've wondered if the algorithm keeps people apart if they don't have some sort of similar categories, friends, subject matter, etc

@sstronaut well, with mods and admin it's a different reason. The admin came to a decision to unfriend all users for both admin and mods. That lessens the priority.
