It's Been a Long Time

I was on EP many years ago, and then moved over to SW when that shut down. I took a break from most online activities for a few years after my life changed for the better. I'm not even certain what made me to think about logging back in here after a all this time. I guess I was just reflecting on who I was when I was on EP/SW before, and thinking of some of the people I was in contact with at the time. I had some people on these platforms who were very important to me. I lost touch with most of them around 10 year ago. Back then I was lonely and my life had been turned upside down. My life is good now, so I don't feel the need to make new connections. But I do sometimes miss the positive interactions I had with people online.

I just wanted to say hello and (re)introduce myself. I hope anyone I knew on here or EP years or decades ago is doing well. I might post more on here at some point.

I am an old EP'er and up until about a year ago I was a regular here.
What I have learned over the years is this place has fit in with most of my
mental swings.
When I am down I find comfort in finding people that feel the same and can relate.
When I feel creative I find people to indulge my ego with a tickle now and again.
When I have a question about my anger issues and how I should address the possibility
that they are not gone but rather dormant. I find people that can relate to my plight and
can assure me that I am in control of my demons. True story.
This place on the surface does seem to be a touch shallow and maybe even juvenile.
But I have found if you look just a little , this place is a great source of kind hearted
sharing people that are just waiting to lend an ear or a hand.
The best part is it's always here waiting when you need it. :-)

@Dainbramadge Nice points. My past experience on EP and here is similar. Your username looks familiar to me. I'm not sure whether we ever interacted before. I was heavily involved on EP from probably around 2007 or 2008 until at least 2014. I never got into SW as much as EP, but I had good experiences here.

@danziger I thought your name was familiar as well but to be honest I am horrible with names.
I, at one time, depended a lot on this and EP. Just had questions about life that I needed answers from outside of my own echo chamber.
It's cool because you just take your thoughts and cast them out to the open and people actually answer with thoughtful comments and often very helpful.
It's actually way better than any other Facebook type site.
