Even basil leaves are both leaves and seasoning. Same for hot peppers.

I actually use all types of leaves in my salad. Spinach being another. You could even use celery leaves on top of regular chopped celery. Or parsley leaves.

Think beyond the standard stuff. There's many types of leaves that have loads of flavor. Like shallot leaves for a taste of onion. Even alfalfa sprouts can be added to salads.

One of the best dressings ever:

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
2 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp soy or coconut aminos
1/4 tsp garlic (fresh or powdered)

Mix everything together.

I’m convinced it would be good even on cardboard—it’s that good. I usually put it on kale with sunflower seeds or pepitas.

Oil and seasoning isn't unhealthy. Live a little.

You're talking about a newlywed salad; lettuce alone without dressing.
