Do you chew your food thoroughly for proper digestion, or just enough to be able to swallow it?

According to most experts, you should aim to chew each bite of food around 20-30 times for proper digestion, but the exact number depends on the food's texture.

No: I rely on instinct!

We should not swallow food whole, but the notion of counting bites is NOT new. It was current a century and more ago, along with other health fads later realised to be rather meaningless.

"According to most experts" does not really mean much either. How many experts in what field, publishing where; and summarised where?
