Why are you hiding your age and or gender?

I don't understand why some people on here are so secretive about their age and gender?

Because it’s my choice. I don’t hide my age publicly or privately, but I don’t feel the need to put it next to my name to please anyone. Especially the ones that use it as a reason to message something that they think is flattering but in reality is nasty.
