What's the eye symbol for?

Hey I'm new here, as in very new here, and don't get me wrong I like eyes as much as the next guy, or girl I guess, but there's this button in your inbox next to the reply button and I have no idea what that button is for and I don't want to press it if I don't know what it does, so do any of you know?

@NoodleJuice: it's like a normal member just we have direct contact with the admins. We do but we have personal accounts for that we try to keep our moderator accounts professional.
