Friendships on SW

Have you ever have someone beg to be your friend here? Would you think it odd? would you give that person a chance?
Maybe you have given it a chance, but it didnt gel for you, so it wasnt a friendship you tried very hard to build? What if that person still kept asking you to be their friend?

A lot of questions...but im interested in your views.

Ive always thought friendships just happen...ya dont plan them. Yes, it can be work sustaining one, but theres got to be something to start with....yeah???

I agree there has to be something to start with. Of course every friendship starts with a hello, but some more should follow fairly quickly. And if either one feels the need to ask to be friends when nothing grows naturally, it's not going to work...

@RubySoo nope! For starters I hate being asked what I want to know. If they don't tell me anything freely, I feel uncomfortable asking. Besides, they started the conversation. Why should I be the one coming up with topics from the get go?

@RubySoo of course after a while it should come from both sides. But I don't understand the initial messages being like "hi, please tell me what you want to talk about?" They had to have a reason to contact me, so just tell me what made you decide to pick me.
