Hamas' use of human shields and its intentional refusal to build bomb shelters while building terror tunnels means that Hamas's war crimes (use of human shields) contribute to the very Israeli war crimes (indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians) that Hamas complains about. These issues are intertwined. Hamas' use of human shields promotes civilian casualties. In negligence law, by analogy, a defendant's allegation of contributory negligence by the plaintiff is not whataboutism.
