Has your outlook on SW changed? If so, in what way?

For me, it's this knee-jerk blocking spree. Some people here use it as a substitute for resolving conflict. And sadly, that's probably why they have so much time available to be here.

I used to give people the benefit of the doubt, that perhaps something I said or did angered them temporarily. That's because I'm a (usually) emotionally mature person. However, I've found this policy to be in vain and out of step with the fact that both my time and friendship have value. Someone who blocks with a hair-trigger has poor impulse control and I don't need a friend like that.

So, a block from someone gets a block from me--no exceptions.

What has changed in the way you look at SW?

I started out with a no-block policy, but soon enough, it was clear that had to change. Perverts, the willfully ignorant, pedophiles, trolls that couldn't help but make ugly remarks, and a few others were just more than I was willing to deal with.

Still, I went for an extended period of time without blocking more than five or six, but recently that list has grown... and grown, and grown.

@Ontheroad Yep. I'm sure Gandhi would have blocked people on here.
