Hello, upon investigating this issue for you, we've noticed that:
1) The user you added as Favorite:
a) Last posted over 9 Hours ago
b) You have already Seen and/or Interacted with that user's most recent posts.
c) The user does appear in your Feed's results, albeit, much lower down the list of the results, since you already interacted with their recent posts.
Therefore, the Favorites feature should be working as intended.
When that Favorited user next posts again, there is a high likelihood that they will appear at the Top of your feed's results.
2) You can further prioritize how high your Favorites, Friends and Following appear in the feed's results, by adjusting these Customize Feed settings:
Users You Follow ==> Max (5)
Relevant Content ==> Max (5)
Post Order / Sorted by: ==> Most Relevant (5)
(Optional, per your preference)
Comments & Replies: ==> Max (5)

You're very welcome.
I just edited in this clarification, seconds ago:
We believe that it would create a sub-optimal, "Broken" feed, if that user's posts were perpetually stuck to the very Top of your feed, always,
even after viewing or interacting with that post.
It will have longer "staying power", posts from favorited users,
but no posts should remain stuck to the top of your feed, for too extended of a period.
You're very welcome.

My understanding was, the favorites posts would always be on top in the feed.

I didn't "favorite" anyone...and I won't...but I do get the same issue Andrew mentioned about the posts not staying at top of feed once I see them. Often enough, the posts seem to disappear. Many times, I don't get to interact with some once I click on one particular post... the other posts disappear while I am busy with one.

Just repeating what I mentioned hours ago, on another thread (which applies to your situation):
A reminder, we have the "Seen In-Feed Posts" History page available:
https://similarworlds.com/history-infeed
This way, you can easily re-locate a post you previously saw in the feeds.
SimilarWorlds is the only social network (I'm aware of) that has this convenient feature available.
There is also the "Visited Post" History page:
https://similarworlds.com/history-posts

@Andrew I have a clue how to navigate this site and how to search out what I'm looking for. It's just a bit of a hassle to have to run it all down, but then I remind myself of how I have told others to rely on themselves and not have to worry about relying on things that may not work the way we wish.
