I'm sorry SW I still miss EP. my input?

the experience project set an impression of being like we want to be the world's largest support group and attract patients from the mental health system that kinda don't want to go to therapy because they know having more informal friendships is far more healthy than paying someone to listen to their problems.

And while this site still has some of that going on it's become more like all the other social networks in that there really isn't as much of a support group mentality going on.

lots of cliques, ingroups out groups, A community is made up of its people. I just wish this one would come to its senses because it is the spiritual successor of the experience project.

At one point that's what we were- a place for people who didn't feel comfortable in therapy for one reason or another.

We can get back to that... people would just have to stop a lot of the pettiness and dramas that go on around here.

Not that EP never did have infighting going on it just- it wasn't as frequent. There's a certain amount of rudeness that entered the community when it became SW that exceeded that we had to deal with on EP.

While I know what you mean, I did lurk on EP, it wasn't just the users that changed. It was the policies of the admin as well as the algorithms that they introduced when this place started.

The algorithms promoted this pettiness by insuring those that are popular get more showing than others. See "reputation" rating on the bottom of this.

Those that seek popularity generally are drama makers. And of course they would have a higher reputation because people are at least voyeurs. More views and likes the higher the reputation, the more of their posts show up in others feeds.

I never was a popularity seeker. And why my profile has so few views after six years. That's also apart of their "reputation" factor, profile views, frequency of posts and length of activities, plus other drama making features.
