Those are the memories you look back on and go .......

Do you remember the countdown before the site was actually active? The one that started over I think twice?

@SW-User That place was awful. There was more moderators than posters. You couldn't say anything without getting booted. In the end all the questions were things like ; "Can you name a song about flowers ?"
I heard it bankrupted her.

@SW-User, @goliathtree maybe I remember it wrongly and SW had a countdown that was reset once too. All I remember from SW is that they had a pre-registration and we got an email when it opened.

I'm not sure it I even knew about blocking yet then. 😂 I remember I said to myself I wouldn't join until replies would be fixed but I couldn't wait. It was pretty crappy back then.

I don’t remember any of this but that’s pretty standard as I’m usually away with the 🧚♀️

No I turned up from an alternative universe which didn't have EP in it so I followed a trail of totally different sites that all died to reach this one LOLZ!😅

@SW-User Oh I got stuck there for ages love I didn't know about EP when Sodahead closed down, wish I had, but I had some good friends on Sodahead who went to Amirite, so I followed them, one of them became the main Moderator on Amirite they had a few mods but she was like the head of the team. It destroyed them all they all had to leave it was such a sh!thole like I got asked countless times will you please help out with the moderating and I was like no f%king way like everyone that took a moderating position they'd be fighting personal wars left over from the Sodahead era and no one had any respect for them either, they didn't do themselves any favours either it had favouritism going on cos as a mod if you went against your 'buddies' the people you'd known years and were good friend with, they'd all turn on you.
Like here for all it's problems thank God it doesn't have a moderator system where one of you get to decide who is right or wrong it's like if I got the right to tell you what you can or can't say you'd quickly fall out with me I mean it was the destroyer of all friendships, because you either gonna be too weak to tell your good friends what they can or can't say when they bending the rules or you gonna tell them and they sure as f%k ain't gonna like a good friend telling them what they can or can't say it's not natural having that kinda control so yeah rant over but oh God what a horrible place and you were right to leave sooner rather than later love x

@AdaXI that sounds like a disaster tbh, I'm glad I wasn't there😂

@SW-User We all ended up there though cos Sodahead closed suddenly like one day we couldn't login. Now that place had serous investment I mean if you rolled all the members of this place EP Amirite at there peaks together you wouldn't l have nowhere near the members that place had in it time, yeah it was massive because back then a lot more people used these Q&A sites so people invested a lot more money into them so that place was up to date and glossy as f%k it would probably still look really good now even nearly a decade after it closed.
Anyway when Sodahead closed down we did the same as some of you guys did from EP we migrated to Amirite which had been dead for a few years but saw the opportunity to put itself back on the map as Sodahead 's sudden close meant 1000s of online users were suddenly left without a site but they didn't have the money sodahead had so they couldn't keep up and most of us left inside a year and it was left with a fraction of the members sodahead had once had but yeah it all went very wrong, sadly cause no one more than me wanted to keep the Sodahead vibe alive but it wasn't to be love.

Omg, yes! No nested comments, just one long list of comments from several intertwined conversations. Was there even tagging?
And no PMs, no photo albums. I think blocking wasn't even available in the first week or so. The site certainly has come a long way since the opening.

I find it strange yet cool that I’ve been able to keep in touch with people that live across the world after years of not hearing from them.
I have deleted accounts so many times lol

I quite liked it when there were no nested comments and you had to add a name so people would spot it. It probably would have got tiresome though after a while.
PerfectIllusion · 46-50, F
Could we even block people back then? That feels like so long ago!
SW-User
@PerfectIllusion one of the first features was blocking
calicuz · 56-60, M
Probably, mental instabilities don't go away on their own.
Fairydust · F
Yeah I didn’t come on as much back then, it was boring…
THEREALDONALDTRUMPparody · 70-79, M

The site was pretty bad at the beginning. To bad they had to mess with the feed with the algorithm.
