SW: A bizarre Stanley Milgram experiment?

It's perhaps not 100% analogous, but do you feel like our reactions to certain stimuli(certain controversial mods to the site) are being measured for some nefarious purpose? Perhaps, by invoking Milgram, I am assigning an undue amount of prestige to an obscure social media site.
