hell put a star by users that you've friended so that you can hover over it and see the name they used in the last 2 weeks. Easy

Do you think at some point you may not exist at all. On a serious note. Do you think people really pay that much attention? I mean it's not really the name that does anything it's the person using it.

the devs seem to think it matters enough to warrant an infinitely scaling time period between name changes. I've come up with multiple solutions and they won't here any of it 😑

Specifications are the new reality and devs are all about it. You could go a different rout and not have to worry about not existing. I think you have touched on it though. Being separate or discrete.
