I'd like to be able to post html links that are actually clickable. I can see how that could be abused, but being able to post links to major news sites, scientific journals, academic website, etc would be helpful. A large "welcome-list" might help with this.
I think it also might raise the google page-rank visibility of SW. Highly ranked pages tend to be linked into by other highly ranked pages, and also tend to link out to other highly ranked pages. Which implies that being able to link directly to a post might also be a good thing.
@ElwoodBlues I appreciate the suggestion, and I understand how this could be good for all members, but this would completely open us to Spammers (no matter how much limits we implement). As for raising the Page Rank, I believe that applies if other sites link to us, not the opposite.
@Nuno Thanks for the reply. It might possibly be workable if there were a good "welcome list" (list of acceptable destination links). It might be the case that a list of 20% of good sites would accommodate 80% of the good links. It wouldn't need to be perfect to be beneficial.
Under "recent activity", I'd like to be able to click on that listing--and go directly to THAT post in the thread. Right now, it just takes you to the thread itself.
