📈 Similar Worlds #️⃣ pages Indexed, UP 3x since Group Consolidation 🚀

The number of webpages from Similar Worlds being indexed by Google (which will resultingly translate to other Search Engines),
has increased by Threefold (x3) since our release of Group Consolidation, / Restructuring,
which was done on July 23rd, 2021.
(Initial improvement changes were started in the prior month of June.)

This will lead to future growth on SW, in the coming months and years ahead.

📈 More Pages Indexed = More Visitors = More Signups & Growth 🚀

[c=666666](Corrected chart labelling)[/c]

This is as we have strategized, which is that these recent changes will improve the overall "Site Quality", Relevance and Organization, over time.

The real benefits to users, will be more visible once we have implemented the planned significant improvements to our "Relevance Algorithms", which will provide more relevant:

• Posts & Comments in Feeds
• Search Results
• Users, Activities, Recommendations
etc...

[sep]

While we understand that many users will not be happy with many of our decisions made in improving/adjusting the way how this site works and operates,

we (SW Staff) DO definitely always consider user feedback, very strongly, in every decision we make.

[sep]

Please note that a "Majority Vote" on a public poll (for example) will not always be indicative of the path we have decided to take on a decision,
(especially for years old feedback polls, where many factors would have since changed).

There will always be a lot of crucial data that is only available to SW Staff (just as with any other website/service), that also factors heavily in the final decisions we make.

[sep]

We continue to look forward to incoming growth for SW, in the coming months. 👍

Many of our recent and in-development changes to this site, are being done, in part, to allow and facilitate such user growth,
as well as to provide a higher quality experience to all of our users, in the long-term.

Thanks for your continued feedback, support and patience! 🙂

Kind regards,
-SW Staff

@SweetNSassy the external visibility of Similar Worlds (in Search Engines, like Google and others) has been steadily increasing, since the major changes done for Group Consolidation, and other improvements we have been doing in these past months.

This means that more new people will find this site, over the coming months,
which would lead to more new users here, more activity, more new people to interact with.
@Andrew thanks for explaining 💗
@Andrew what on earth has group consolidation got to do with visability on search engines?
@OogieBoogie That is a very good question ... you will not like the answer
@OogieBoogie Pretty sure it means that the new layout is drawing attention to new people and it shows that more people are checking out his website.
@SweetNSassy have you considered it means what we post here is becoming more visabile on Google?... Ie, photos, comments!
@OogieBoogie I want more followers my goal is 777 I need like 60 more people to make that happen 🤷‍♀️
@OogieBoogie

EP was American individual experience based "I like, I believe, I am ..."

Google is European philosophy and "topic centric"

Google has established the world's "topics" and their search engine crawls the web searching corresponding "topics"

SW is corresponding our writings to Googles view of what the world should look like ... not what we, as individuals feel and express.

The chasm between google and us ... is what EP filled

SW adopted that role and now SW is vacating that role ... joining millions of other dubious blogs in existence.

To be ... just another

It is a shame ... we had higher hopes
@questionWeaver omg y’all get off my post with this negativity before I block y’all both🤷‍♀️🤣
@SweetNSassy why, what does it matter how many followers you have?

For Search Engines, especially Google, their most important feature is returning the most Relevant and Highest Quality results to users, whenever they search for something.

Google is also the most advanced company in the world in AI (Artificial Intelligence), especially as it relates to interpreting the content, meaning and quality, of any page on the internet.

Prior to Group Consolidation, Similar Worlds was still a disorderly mess, and Google would have also seen it as such.

We were aware of this (Admins can see a lot more of the site's internal and external structure, how posts and topics connect to one-another, how much relevant content is contained within a specific page, group, etc..),
and thus, we worked to improve these problems SW had.

As we have made changes over the past months to the site's structure and how content is organized, this has been noticed by Google, who through their combination of AI analysis (and possibly also some instances of manual reviewal),
now see Similar Worlds as having "Higher Quality of Structure, Content and Organization", compared to how the site was seen before these major changes.

Thus, they have steadily been ranking more and more of SW's pages in their search results (your, the user's, posts),
which leads to more of our site and user content being findable by others not yet joined to SW.

Which leads to greater potential for new signups, and so on.
@questionWeaver that's what I liked about this place and EP, the personality it had.

It had a human vibe about it.

And I muss that feel, that sense of community.

It made it easier to make friends, feel like you meant something, and connections were stronger.

Now.... The feel of community is fading.

And I'm desperate for it to be only a phase, becuase if it fades more, the last thing I need is to feel meaningless even more 😔
@OogieBoogie

What has occurred is the creeping influence of "cancel culture" and its cousin "everybody needs to conform".

Individuality is Americanism

SW is moving rapidly away from individualism

That is likely what you are feeling.

Cultural conformance is a lonely place with few friends.

Many writers have compared cultural conformance to the abyss.

It is no wonder, that as SW vaporizes individuality, we feel the loss of soul.
@Andrew Sooooo, you changed the groups for free advertising?

You changed the culture to become popular?

Hmmmmm.
Be wary Andrew, popularity doesn't alway last, and isn't always good.

Somethings survive and grow, albeit slowly due to quality.

Sudden growth is weak and is likey to become infected.

I trult hope you guys know what you're doing.
The human factor is unpredictable.
@Andrew idk how you put up with them 🤣
@SweetNSassy thank you for the support
@questionWeaver you ain’t got no support from me lol
