Is downvotes a terrible idea?

I'm okay with it. I just don't think people should be penalized. That's what the report feature is for.

Problem is I could rack up thousands of downvotes and never know about it. Never have a chance to understand why people don't like what I post. That's what SW wants.
Why would I downvote people when I could just scroll by, mute or block? This is the Karen button. SW wants information from Karen.

not always. I know most don't like that it makes people hide under negative thumbs rather than commenting on what they don't like. but if the post is shitty and pervert, why cant we give downvotes?

I think we need a week or so to see how it works. I feel like at the moment people are scared to use it sooooo it won’t cause any problems like that 😅 but not many benefits either. It could work once people are settled with it but it needs a “are you sure you want to downvote?” box and it needs a better explanation next to it
