If your coworkers...

Hate a particular person who happens to be friendly to you, then it is fair that your coworkers start treating you differently just because you happen to have no qualms with a person they detest?

Background- the “detested” said hello to me today and wanted to ask how I was doing. When I got back to my desk I could hear my coworkers saying, “I wonder what that was about?”, to which the other replied, “who knows what the hell they’re saying”. I wasn’t even talking shit like why is this the view?

I totally understand the feeling.

I'll give all the benefit of a doubt, no matter what anyone says about a person, until proven otherwise.

@eyeno amen! It’s interesting...typically when someone tells me I’m really going to hate a person the opposite occurs.

@DecafD yes.., we, you, and All deserve a chance.

I've had a whole department shun me because one person who was jealous of me, tried and for the most part turned everyone against me.

For that reason I don't listen to gossip, instead if I want to know anything ill go straight to the source and bluntly ask.

Its a good thing during the years spent there, I excelled at my job. And those people had no control over me and what I did or told them what to do.

In the last years spent there, people opened their eyes and saw truth and disregarded the gossip and lies.

Btw: in the end after working with that person for years he got fired and lost all benefits or hopes of ever working in that town (area) again.

Good fortune to you and pray you never have to endure the situation I went through (prayer done).
@eyeno thank you for the prayer and I’m sorry you had to go through all that BS for one rotten apple. That’s karma- you get what you give and he certainly got his!
