How do you deal with a control freak at work?

The coworker that’s always telling you how you should do your job and attempts to correct what you say when really there’s nothing wrong with what you’re saying- you’re just not saying it the same exact way they would 🙄

Is your co-worker your manager?
If not, they have no business poking their nose in your business. Tell them directly you got it unless they want to do your job too.
@SW-User no- he’s my equal. Even now we’re on a call and I said something he disagreed with so now he’s texting me behind the scenes on what he wishes I had said. I’m texting him back things like, “too bad...sorry you feel that way” and this b!$&/ can’t get the hint!

@DecafD Ignore his texts. If you don't need his number for any essential communication, block it. And if he opens his mouth, ask him if he wants to do it for you. That should shut him up. Just be assertive, no sorries, no placations.
@SW-User thanks!!! You’re right- I should’ve ignored his texts from the beginning instead of entertaining his bs. I’m def going to be pointed next time and ask him specifically if he’d like to speak on my job...in front of everyone.

@DecafD Good! People like that feed off making other people uncomfortable.
