I was appropriately smacked as a child and so were my kids...not beaten, just a smack on the mouth or possibly on the ass when it was necessary (which wasn’t often at all)
I think the problems started for parents, when Dr. Spock came around, and then the kids started being told they have ‘rights’. Of course they always had rights, but the problems started when they were told they had rights.
“Wait, what? My parents can’t MAKE me do those things? I have the right to say no??? I can call the police on them?? Well, holy hell...!!!”
You would never have seen my kids acting the way these spoiled, entitled brats do nowadays, and they are both fine, we’ll adjusted, kind, caring adults now.

@Elevatorpitches Haha, not sure which part you're calling BS on, but hey, you are free to call it whatever you like.

@ImpeccablyImperfect I’m not a fan of hitting people to control them, I think it sets a bad precedent, but hitting someone in the mouth can cause injury. A smack on the tush is a bit less violent.
