Basically what it teaches is that if you’re bigger and stronger than someone you have the right to hit them to get them to do what you want. Makes concerns about video games “causing children to be violent” rather ironic.
Yes, I was hit, because that’s the way my parents were raised. They stopped when I was about 11.
When they became grandparents they actually apologized to us for having ever hit us and hoped that we wouldn’t continue the practice. None of us have.
