Do you believe in karma ?

Do you believe that all the ain you a suffering right now or joy experiencing is effect of your own actions ? And yes all the misfortunes suffered from a robbery ,injustice ,humiliation ..everything is because you did something bad in your previous life ?

I have wondered about the idea before. But I can't see the victims of much of the abuse in the world having been soooo bad in a past life as to warrant that abuse in this life. If that is true then the past was truly evil😖

@canusernamebemyusername actually I agree ,with you but I also see a very deep understanding in it .
Imagine this -
You heard a person is very brutally murdered by another person .leaving his children homeless.
Now you for a moment accept that its his karma and you should not hold a grudge against the murderer but at the same time fight for justice so that murdered is jailed ,not out of anger or revenge but for reformation ,repentance and arguing that such person may harm another innocent if let out .
Now we know karma continues .in next life due to karma the murderer is now brutally murdered or say meets a very pathetic condition equating the pain he caused in his previous life .now in this life we are sympathizing with the murderer again by saying its karma .
And in this the doctrine of karma if understood properly helps one to sympathize with everyone .
But yeah what I said is very hard to practice cant tolerate when people hurt innocents especially children .I start hating them
@SW-User I try to put put mindfulness and compassion meditation into practice myself. It helps a lot.
Also I try to keep this qoute in mind as well:

"You can love a person dear to you with a human love, but an enemy can only be loved with divine love."
- Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace

I want to work towards that divine state.

@canusernamebemyusername wow beautiful .
I have heard so much about tolstoy and his powerful writings especially on topics of peace and non violence .but never read a tolstoy full book, only precepts.
I will surely read about ,I think gandhiji was also inspired by his work .

@canusernamebemyusername and yes meditation is a very powerful tool
@SW-User I have only read pieces of his stuff. But he had great insight even if his stuff is hard to read sometimes. I just hope that one day anger/hate will be gone from humanity. Justice can still be achieved through love and reason imo. One can love their enemies to the point that they become a friend. Can show compassion until the other side understands. When we are one mind and one heart we can become more than the sum of our parts and truly find immorality.

@canusernamebemyusername I dont think its easy ,I thinks it very hard to controlgreed ,lust ,anger ,jealousy ...aleast for me .
@SW-User I know. I have fought fear all my life and require medication for it. Because my body/brain doesn't habituate like normal people. But that is where I have to use logic to try everything and go with what works best. And meditation has helped me control anger. It took a while cause my brain kept wanting to be angry but I beat it down cause anger just felt like poison to me.
