Am I the only person who misses the activity feed on profiles?

you still can. just add: /replies at the end of the url once you're on their profile.
if they've hidden it, you won't be able to see it. if they haven't hid it, you can still see it.

Gotta pick a few and make sure they're worth the extra effort of manually stalking.
