Why are people on SW so judgemental?

Why is it necessary to ask whether something is "classy" or "trashy"? People don't think like that in real life, we just live and let live without batting an eyelid. What makes SW so different?

@Nanori you cant paint everybody with same brush,by the same token If its a majority it sets a tone for for the whole site é
