@SW-User My in-laws obsessively track every second of online activity from my wife and her brother. Not out of any kind of controlling need, but they're bored and love their kids.

This invariably leads to awkward conversations where they literally get phone calls that require them to explain what some pop culture reference in a tweet meant.

@CountScrofula I was once having a text conversation with my husband, when I stopped and realized that my grandparents would have absolutely no idea what we were talking about. It's amazing how much the language has changed in such a short time.
