Can anyone tell me why?

Sometimes, when I reply to a post, I'll get the message,

"You don't have permission to perform this action."

Why would that be?

There is one case where that could happen. And that would be in a private group. In that case you have to be on the groups member list to reply. Yet I am surprised you can even view such a group without being a member.
