Have you ever noticed that trolls are always right-wing Conservatives?

Here is the proof. They are always racist, sexist, homophobic and generally all-round bigoted (all those things are extreme right-wing). I've yet to encounter a troll with left-wing equalitarian values. How come?

I used to think that too. I used to think that my liberal friends have my back, they'd not be bigoted.

Until I realized a lot are not interested in what's best for the minorities as much as gaining their votes. They'd still choose a minority over another if it means gaining their votes back in their countries. It doesn't matter which is oppressing which.

I also used to think they'd be able to look at me as a person, as a friend. But when I have an opinion different than their own I am completely dehumanized on here and elsewhere..Called all manners of things and even harassed repeatedly.

They are exactly how they treat their opponents. That is the only lens I will use to judge anyone calling themselves liberal from now on.

@Miram When I tell a neoliberal voter I am third party Socialist I get grilled harder than an overcooked piece of steak, being blamed for hillary losing and all other things. When I mention I support Tulsi Gabbard, I have to duck and run.

@NativeOregonian I am sorry to hear that, all the aggression makes it difficult to discuss anything in a fruitful manner.

@Miram I hear you. But can I suggest that if you take any label like 'liberal' or 'feminist' or 'conservatives' or 'Palestinian' and say everyone in that group is exactly the same - then you are dehumanizing people yourself. I'm sure you don't mean that. Sorry you have been treated badly by anyone.

@Miram It does, ever since trump won, the left has become far worse than the right after Obama won in '08 :/ I mean get real, they want to eliminate the electoral college, which in essense they want to make sure only their vote counts, the same with how they complain about redistricting, claiming it is biased, when all it is is about when census numbers change in population.

@Abstraction The term, birds of a feather, holds very true with politics and religion, it is not dehumanizing them.
Abstraction · 61-69, M
@NativeOregonian I'm sorry, that's nonsense. Every conservative believes exactly the same as the tea party? Every republican agrees with everything Trump says or does? There is debate within every group, they can't possibly all believe the same or behave the same. On this site people say, 'feminists believe... (insert some nonsense)' because one feminist said it. And they believe it!! Over-generalisation is dehumanisation.
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@Abstraction Then you are more blind than you think and completely misunderstood what I said.

@Abstraction

True, it's a small part not the whole. And I was referring to a group of friends I had. Sadly they yell the loudest, and maybe it has lot to do with why they'd give up on friendships over it.

And yes, generalizations can be de-humanizing.

It's alright. I've also been treated very well including by many responding to this post. 🤗

@NativeOregonian I see. I rarely interfere in discussions about US politics unless it is about healthcare, foreign policy or immigration because they affect those I care for. And I have to say I started sensing more aggression from both sides once Obama got into office too.
