I read an interesting article that pointed out that European architecture tends to encourage people to gather around outdoors in cafes and restaurants and mix as a community, and American architecture tends to be box-like silos with no places to mix outside unless you're buying something

I could never live somewhere that doesn’t have a dopey roadside attraction within driving distance:P
