How can we persuade the SW admin to forbid members to be rude to each other?

@Glambarber You can't twist the word freedom and make it something else.

You have the freedom to be civilised as you have the freedom to not be by another person's standard. Otherwise it isn't freedom, it's enforced.

@Glambarber the side of the coin where free speech doesn't exist.
Not trying to grill you, but what you essentially said was "Why can't freedom of speech be what I would like it to be".

Even if what you would like may seem good it's still an infringement on freedom of speech, and the issue with that is it's then up to a person to decide what is "rude" and what isn't, which is subjective.

@Glambarber Because an overly senstive person could take your opinion as rudeness, using a word somebody doesn't like could be considered as rudeness.

There's objective definitions of rudeness like telling someone to fuck off because there's intention and nuance behind it.
So telling someone to fuck off is rude, but we're adults and we can mute or block people and with that in mind i support anyones right to be rude and unlikeable to whomever they choose on principle.

@Glambarber Well you can either block or mute, aside from that maybe realise the world doesn't revolve around your sensibilities. It's a very entitled approach.

There's no way to enforce that version of reality without restricting people's rights. You can already report/block/mute people who are bothering you and that is the compromise we make to ensure we can all speak our minds.

@Glambarber and just because your preffered reality is shared by others doesn't make it valid. It's like being an overbearing mother and bubblewrapping everyone for what you would deem as their own benefit when nobody else wants it or cares.

And it IS your preffered reality as it is the one YOU personally would like to re-create here, or else you'd state another one.

WE do have choices and we like it and that is freedom of speech.
I don't understand why this is such a difficult concept for you.
