I'm confused about this. I mean, what does it really mean to be verified? you send a pic with a piece of paper and then what? you get verified here? how does that verify anything really? then you post a pic or send an image via message of yourself, how do other users know that the posted pic is legit and not from anyone else?
what is it for?
who's going to verify the pics? who has access to them? the admins? the mods? the pics are going to be stored forever in the servers? what if users want them deleted?
this raises many many questions....
kinda confused tbh
still think it can be a good thing. for example to keep spammers and bots out. not trying to bash or anything. I'm very glad sw is improving. and admins seem very smart because they are willing to change things if they don't work. kudus

There are two Photos required for full verification:

1) the paper + face photo, which will stay private (this is like a Password)
.... This allows the account to be recovered and is required to be able to mark account as verified
.... Users must NEVER share this photo with anyone

2) an optional extra photo where user shows the same face
.... This photo isn't necessary to recover account
.... This photo is necessary to be able to mark account as verified
.... This photo is public

At the moment, only admins can access the private photos.
You can delete the verification photos at any time.

The reason we ask for two photos instead of just the Face + Paper photo is to avoid a loophole.

People can simply verify their profile with their photo. We accept the verification, because it had a clear face and the paper as we requested,
but that doesn't mean they can't later just put fake photos and say they are the person on the photos...

So, this is why we request a Public photo. This will show a verified badge in their profiles and users will be able to see the verification photo, by pressing the Green Tick Verified icon. The visitors of that profile can compare that Verified photo with the rest of the photos in the profile.

Users can trust the Public photo because admins matched it with the Private photo (Face + Paper).
