I'm actually really annoyed about this because it implies that people who wish to remain faceless rather than anonymous, are somehow less real. There are people on this site who know more about my life than people who see my face every day!

@WelshLovely Yes, it did. What we really need to be able to verify here is age and gender, and pictures aren't the way to do that (yes I have seen the odd few pictures around of transgender males who I'm pretty sure could pass quite easily as women)! Pictures don't verify age either - some minors could probably pass as young adults and vice versa. Having 'verified' on an account could easily be misinterpreted as offering assurance the correct age and gender has been given.
