I may, or I may not. And I don’t care what the mods or admins think.
Frankly I don’t see how “verifying” anyone in this way will improve the conduct of some members, or change their behavior.
The fact is some “real” people are real assholes, in real life as well as on sites like this one. I seriously doubt this feature will do anything to curb the worst trolls and hacks.
For the rest of us who simply value the anonymity SW allows and interact and express ourselves more freely because of it, this seems like a lousy trade. We’re told that “verification” is optional and we can chose not go along if we want. But the official statement clearly creates the implication that if we don’t we’ll be considered suspect, and probably labeled that way .
So what’s really going on Nuno?
SW is your creation, your property, and all of us are here as guests. You can do whatever you want, including kicking any or all of us out - I get it. But what do you want actually? Are you trying to cope with the very real security issues facing Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms that have been manipulated and exploited by fake news/propaganda bots? Or is this some new marketing move that gives you a way of selling our habits and preferences, and identities, to advertisers?
It’s just not clear enough right now. And I’m not in a mood get in line.

@BatRinseRepeat I personally think that verifying is a good idea, but the thing is that every users (even fake trolls) will be able to see your second verification photo is big no-no. Only other verified users should have the vantage of seeing your second verification photo.

@BatRinseRepeat Any data, that we need to use that identifies a user, stays in our own databases/servers, and we don't share this data with anyone (unless the user shared that data with public). We do not sell any data.
If you choose to stay anonymous (which is perfectly fine), there is not much use in proving that you are a specific person.
If a user wants to stay anonymous, we won't show/say that the user is not trusted on Similar Worlds. Verifying your account will help make you a more trusted member on Similar Worlds. However, it is entirely optional.

@BatRinseRepeat yeh, we've all 'been there done that'.

@BatRinseRepeat And for those of us who have purchased VIP accounts to support the site—they haven’t needed our photos to accept our money.
