As a paying member presumably my account is considered verified by my credit card details?
Butterflykisses24 · 51-55, F
@fazer1k Dont think it works that way.You could be a young girl.No proof of that.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Butterflykisses24 How could I? Verified by Visa ensures that's not the case in Europe - I don't know the rules for using other people's credit cards in the US.

Not to mention if I wanted to find someone else to pose in a photograph holding a piece of paper I probably could!

@fazer1k As our Privacy Policy says,
We do not have access to your credit card information and we do not save any details of it.
@Nuno Understood, but you would have been able to check the details at the time I paid and verify my gender and the birth date I entered into my SW account - so in future it should count!

@fazer1k Making a payment does not proof what you look like. If you wish to prove that the person in your pictures (if you have any) is you, then you will have to go through the verification process. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can ignore this option.

@Gentle153 Why should verification involve pictures? Surely the real issue is about people being who they claim to be. I claim to be a male aged 51-55 and that is verifiable via my credit card details when I pay.

You can only get a rough idea of age from pictures and I've seen pictures of transgender people good enough to fool me into believing they were the opposite sex. I've also seen accounts where pictures of a supposed user actually appear to be of different, though similar, people - especially on Facebook. Plus skilled people can create doctored pictures easily.

@fazer1k As payments are managed by a third party, the owners do not have access your age and gender, and the verification process is not primarily focused on those details. The verification is mainly aimed at confirming looks for those who wish to proof that the photos in their albums and posts are really theirs. (Though of course a 45 years old man trying to verify a 13 year old female profile will be caught too.)

@Gentle153 can you tell me how come you are verified yet i can not see your photo.I would do this if it was limited to just my friends seeing my photo.I do not want my photo public.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Gentle153 Okay, thanks. As those details are on the actual card for anyone to see I didn't realise SW wouldn't see them during an electronic submission.

Edit: On checking my DOB is not shown on my credit card - my mistake.
