Why do some people on SW defend evil?

You know, saying things like "Hitler did nothing wrong" and "Ted Bundy was just misunderstood". Do these people really want to live in a world of murderers and mass murderers? If so, why?

I think many of them are [b]trolls[/b]. They may or may not believe what they're saying, but they say it because they know it will get a strong reaction. I usually block the more ridiculous posters.
