Why do people feel the need to insult someone just because they don't agree with them?

@TechniCoIorBroccoli There are some mighty mischievous people on this site who are obsessed with blocking anybody who dares to shove the truth in their face the way I love to hammer it home.

@SW-User Some people abuse the block system. I think they should be penalised for maliciously using it to avoid having the naked, brutal truth shoved in their face. How else are we supposed to stop their malicious lies?

@NankerPhelge I was referring to blocking people that try to insult others just because they disagree with them

@SW-User Yes, and that's just the thin end of a very sinister wedge. It only takes about 3 or 4 of those insults before it escalates into lies and all sorts of other malicious filth, even (Heaven forbid!) false accusation. When it sinks to that level of hate-fuelled depravity, there is no choice but to force the truth on them whatever it takes. Believe me, I am not exaggerating, I've seen it all before on other websites before I joined this one.

@SW-User Exactly. I for one will not put up with it. As Mr. Hodges (my pompous, eccentric old English teacher) used to say, "this is the sort of behaviour up with which I shall not put". Lol :)
