That's the core of politics

SW-User
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit has nothing to do with politics
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Then why do people bother to discuss politics? Why don't they discuss a more friendly topic like holidays or entertainment or even dating? Why politics?
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 31-35, F
@SW-User it sure does, you are talking about when people disagree with each other they go straight for insults, check out politics it is their bread and butter

SW-User
@NankerPhelge good point
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 31-35, F
@NankerPhelge Because for many people it is important the way their government is run. They want it to go with their certain beliefs and wants etc But we have many who don't know how to have a mature conversation while still disagreeing so naturally most go for low blows which normally have not much to do with the issues at hand.

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit thanks for explaining yourself respectfully

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Believing it is important the way their government is run is one thing. Being an arrogant, argumentative asshole is an entirely different kettle of fish. If they must discuss politics, why can't they be civilised about it? Why all the insults and other troll comments I keep seeing pertaining to that particular topic? Why don't they go back home and watch Tom and Jerry or Scooby Doo, and return to the topic of politics in about 10 or 12 years' time when they might just be old enough to vote for the first time? I don't get it. 🤔

@NankerPhelge Immaturity, I wish people would be able to discuss it with manners, and see the best in each other. When you can do that you find that what you disagree on normally doesn't make the other persona stupid or a bad person. Just focused on something different. It is important to continue to exchange our ideas together, but without respect we will never advance.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit So, what makes these people so immature? What is their problem?
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 31-35, F
@NankerPhelge I would think it is a mix of what they were taught and what they learned. I know sometimes people have a difficult time respecting another's thoughts, beliefs, opinions if they do not mirror their own. I wish I could understand what makes them think being disrespectful to others does anything good for their case, I am lost in their thought process.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Surely, what they were taught and what they learned would be the same thing. Lol :)
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 31-35, F
@NankerPhelge No not true. Think about it in school terms, I was taught things but it doesn't mean I learned what they taught.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Ah, I see. Lol :)
