Either the time spent, or the illusory aspect of its validity.

hi shaelan ·
wow! That is soooo deep. I don't even know what "the illusory aspect of its validity" means but it sounds really cool. IS that even legal!
Best wishes
:)

@sogdianrock For example, arguing with somebody online about something. How beneficial is this argument? What problem in the world does it actually solve? Either party has a vested interest in their own view of rightness but both could be right or wrong by another perspective. Whether what happens matters in the end can be seen as illusory. Take this concept and magnify it to encompass the entire realm of social media, and the statement will hold appropriate meaning. :) Best wishes to you also.

wow! you are good! I like but do not understand; "Take this concept and magnify it to encompass the entire realm of social media, and the statement will hold appropriate meaning"! You could sell your words!

@sogdianrock Social media presents the essence of Internet connectivity. Proximity at a distance. It is real without being physical, so in the end while people may attribute its use to positive elements that come into their lives, in terms of the question and in the context of social media, it seems to do more harm than good. The illusory aspect of its validity literally means that the validations for social media are illusory or self-serving. Bearing in mind that all users of social media are in-fact the product, it doesn't matter how many hearts your posts get or how many people follow you. The 'friends' are just subscribers to your content. Also, the fact that in some cases this can be monetized appears to fly in the face of what I said but is merely justification to remain mired in the illusory space. Good day. :)

hi shaelan ·
Thanks. I am right in understanding you don't like social networking and think it is a fake experience? I have found it quite profound and like being at a huge party. I do live in a wood though.
Best wishes

@shaelan Wow!!!! This is the truth!!! I think these are the most honest words I have ever read online.Thank you!!!☺

@sogdianrock I also live in a wood and don't find social networking to be fake in terms of personal experience, but observe the outcomes of interactions had over social media can be illusory. Are they really as important as they seem? Perhaps, but we all walk away from the computer/tablet/phone/whatever eventually. When we do, the world is still there, unchanged despite our experience, yet ever-awaiting our return. Be well. :)

@SW-User Wow! You're welcome.

Sure vital as in life affirming. All is RL! Social Networking can provide greater intimacy! Sure is a different medium but nt qualitatively different imho.
