@Daniela27: Take comfort in the fact-- that's all we can do. I was a single dad of 3 before my wife and I formed the Brady Bunch, so I know that feeling.
@Daniela27: The oldest was born in 2004. The youngest was born in 2011. 5 out of 6 have a "special needs" classification, although only 2 are "high maintenance" in my personal opinion, and rate the label, so to speak.
So, yeah. A handful. But so is your situation, I'm sure...! Where is the girl in the order...? First, last, middle...? Mine goes girl, boy, girl, boy, boy, boy.
@Daniela27: OH YEAH. I can imagine. Especially since you didn't lead with the girl, like I did. ;)
See, in my family, we have this weird thing on my dad's side. ONE girl per generation, always the firstborn. Been that way for CENTURIES, if you trace the family tree. So, because I have a blended family, I am the first male in my family to be raising two girls. Funny part...? The step-daughter has made more of an effort to be "daddy's girl" than my own flesh and blood (who just rests on the laurels of being daddy's girl). In fact, my step-daughter has made it very clear... if mommy and daddy break up, she's staying with me. :P
@Daniela27: I could talk all night about each one of them. They are the reason I do EVERYTHING I do. I have to be the example they look up to and want to be like, or find in a partner. I don't need the promise of a Heaven or the threat of a Hell to do the right thing... I just remember these faces, and remind myself-- I'm the supporting character in this show, not the star. I figure as long as I ask myself, "Is this in the best interest for my children?" before I make ANY decision or take any action, I'm probably going to make the right choice by them. ;)
