I am a New Member at Similar Worlds

Hi! I'm more or less just finding myself again. I like to be around people, but I like having time to myself. I love being an employee at the bowling alley, but I enjoy having my own cleaning service as well. I love music, I used to play piano and guitar when I was younger, but I haven't done either for a long time. I like being around people who are positive and uplifting. I try to take life one day at a time if I can.

You sound pretty normal.....lol.
I love music too. And would you believe it, I played piano too (because my mother made me) and the guitar (because I thought it made me cool). But I was terrible at both and haven't played either in years!!
I also played drums....and discovered I was pretty good at them!!!! Probably because they are the only instrument you can play without being musical.....lol
I played in several bands but these days just play on my own😣

What type of music are you into?

@jackthelad: My mom was a piano teacher, but I was probably her worst student:) My brother gave me a guitar and taught me a few chords; I really enjoyed playing. Folk music was easiest for me to learn, but I like all different kinds of music.

Oh dear....a mom/teacher....the worst kind of teacher!!!! But music can be a good way of making new friends. Have you considered that?

I don't want to get too personal, but after your divorce did you lose your friends and have to re-invent yourself?

@jackthelad: Hi! My mom gave piano lessons at our home when I was little. I loved it because her students would oftentimes come early so that we could play Barbies:)

Our friends are a little different with me now because they can't believe I would divorce such a wonderful guy, but I wasn't very close with any of them anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Actually, now that I am working at the bowling alley, I'm around people that I knew before I met my husband, so it's been nice. I guess I should explain that I met my husband 33 years ago when I worked at a different bowling alley.

I know what you mean. I often wonder about some of my friends and how loyal they would be. Was your husband really a wonderful guy?

Why do I suspect that some of the people at the bowling alley are old boyfriends?.....lol

@jackthelad: The friends are judging my exhusband by what a wonderful friend he is to them. They should be able to figure out that if he was such a wonderful husband I wouldn't have divorced him, but they can't seem to differentiate between the two.

@Miryam: Yep. I know what you mean. I was in a similar situation and even my own family doubted me. Such is life!!!

If no old boyfriends there must be old friends who would like to be your boyfriend now?

@jackthelad: The last boyfriend I had before I met my husband was 38 years ago and we haven't seen each other in that many years either. I would probably look so old to him that he wouldn't be interested:)

I doubt that Miryam. If your profile pic is anything to go by I am sure he would be verrrrrry interested!! You look much much younger that your profile age!!

@Miryam: Maybe it was just a good photo. But I believe the camera doesn't lie....you are definitely cute!!!
