Site Etiquette

Hey, some advice please. What is the best way to approach someone on here.
I have had a few people follow me with no previous interaction, and then no further contact - am I supposed to DM them?
I have had a couple of random DMs, which I have to admit it was nice to get a message.

Is there a preferred way, or do you reply on people saying on their profile what they prefer?

@aloneinUK I was kidding but joking aside, there ARE "friend collectors" on here just like any other social site.

Do not put much thought into people "Following", it doesn't mean anything.

As far as etiquette on here, there isn't much. People argue, block excessively, insult each other, post gross stuff, whatever.

No need to walk on egg shells for anyone.
