Hi, I'm Mark

Well, hello there!

I'm Mark, 6ft ,40 something happily married man - to the inimitable @MartikaDuponte1 - with 6 daughters...yes...SIX! Miya, Jasmin, Suzanne, Samantha, Amidala and Rhianna. 5 with my wife, 1 from another relationship.

I have a collective of wonderful mother-in-laws - Sammy Jo and Karen - and I have a younger sister, Patricia.

I'm a lawyer, by trade, having grown into a partnership for many years before, 5 years ago starting my own partnership. Work life is fun and varied.

Outside of work, I love to run and cycle. Mostly running, to be fair.

I'm not much of a drinker - the occasional glass of wine - and a long-time vegetarian.

I am, yes, one of those old Experience Project people. It's been quite the long time since then and now.

So, nice to meet you all !

Holy cow! 6 daughters. I can't imagine. My 13 yr old daughter is a handful unto herself.

@TexChik Thankfully, only 4 live at home....youngest 15 months old...

Bit of a handful...now you realise why I cycle....away! Lol!
TexChikF
@MarkRichardson 15 months? You know, I believe I heard they have figured out what causes that now...馃ぃ. I was an EPer too. What kind of law do you practice?
MarkRichardson46-50, M
@TexChik Litigation, mostly....and some Civil Law. Had the juicy stuff in my younger days, although we do get some interesting cases.

Yes...our last one was quite the surprise!

@MarkRichardson A litigator! My husband accuses me of being one when he and I have a disagreement , however I do corporate, mostly syndicated finance deals for an group of investors and I also do some environmental law work for my husband's employer. I am done the the firm/partnership model and now am my own, private Corp with 4 employees. Its much more pleasant that way.

@TexChik Ah, nice. Environmental? That's getting bigger and bigger these days. I delved into criminal law for a brief spell, many years ago when I was a baby lawyer. Not nice. Part of the defence of a 2nd degree murder trial. Quite horrific. Put me off.

Stick to the less hardcore stuff these days!

@MarkRichardson I got the specialization process going at my new bosses request as soon at I started work after the Bar results were posted . Texas is oil and gas , and I ended up marrying an oil man so I had a source of cases to work .

@TexChik Lovely to know.
