I am a New Member at Similar Worlds

I can't be the only one who is extremely disappointed with this site. Not for how it works, or how it looks... just the general "content" of it. It seems as if this site has been quickly turned into Facebook 2.0. I love you guys to death, but god damn, you talk about some of the most pointless, meaningless things. I mean there's a group on here for "small hands" and what your "favourite toe" is (is this really "bringing" people together?). And yet when I go over to the spiritual/philosophy groups nobody's posted anything. Sad times we live in. It'd just be nice to see people take this site a bit more seriously and not just use it to alleviate boredom - which is apparently what it's been used for mostly, judging by the things people are posting. Where's all the thoughtful content? Why aren't people coming up with their own ideas anymore, or touching base on things that actually have meaning? Is this just indicative of the times we live in? And I get it; we're all entitled to post what we like. I really do get it. It just seems like a complete waste of time to me. I thought the whole point of this website was that thoughtful, well-intentioned people got together to document and write about their experiences and ideas in life, and not just post meaningless trite out of sheer boredom because there's an opportunity for it.

It'd just be nice to see people use their brain (said with love). It's really disappointing... makes me wonder if there's any point using this site. What a shame.
