I am a New Member at Similar Worlds

It's been a poo of a year. I've lost some people who were very close to me, including my wife and best friend. Cancer took my wife, and my friend was taken in a car crash. There were others, and they will all be missed greatly. "Why are you still here?" you may ask. Well, I have a son. He's the only reason I haven't shot myself. The occasional need to speak to someone arises, so I decided to join the Similar Worlds community. I was here long ago. I left for a while, and now I'm back. 👋
My mother passed away last month and I was left to navigate the overwhelming world of the death industry by myself. From emergency rooms, to hospitals, to nursing homes, to insurance, to funeral homes, to cemeteries to the state - everyone wants their cut during your emotional turmoil. On top of that I lost my job. I think I have an idea what you're going through. Messed up but I gotta straighten things up somehow.
@Lugubrious I hear ya. And nobody really helps because it's as if I'm a leper now, but carrying no disease.

@DudeistPriest I understand that.
@Lugubrious Doesn't it feel like all of a sudden for no apparent reason *Fooomp* it's all fallen into Your Lap now? Having to deal with the entire ordeal all by yourself and none of your family really wanted to help? Now I understand exactly why siblings resent each other when a parent passes.
